How to Report a Repair

Understanding the importance of maintaining a safe and functional living environment, we are committed to providing prompt and efficient repair services to all our members. This section outlines how we manage repair requests, from routine maintenance to urgent fixes, ensuring that every aspect of your home remains in excellent condition. Our approach emphasises community collaboration and the co-operative spirit, aiming to handle each repair with care and consideration for your comfort and satisfaction.

Types of Repairs

Emergency Repairs: Emergency repairs are those that pose an immediate threat to health, safety, or security. Examples include severe water leaks, complete loss of electricity or heating, and structural damages that compromise the building’s integrity. These issues require immediate attention, and we aim to address them within 24 hours to ensure your safety and comfort.

Urgent Repairs: Urgent repairs are necessary for significant inconveniences but do not pose immediate hazards. Examples include minor leaks, heating problems in cold weather, or issues with essential appliances. We strive to resolve urgent repairs within three days, prioritising your needs and restoring normalcy as quickly as possible.

Routine Repairs: Routine repairs cover general maintenance and non-urgent issues that affect your living quality but do not require immediate action. These include cosmetic damages, minor appliance repairs, and regular upkeep tasks. We handle routine repairs on a scheduled basis, typically within two weeks, ensuring every aspect of your home is functioning well without disrupting your daily life.

Tenant Responsibilities

As part of our cooperative community, tenants have certain responsibilities to ensure their homes remain in good condition. You are expected to handle minor repairs and maintenance tasks that do not require professional intervention. These include changing lightbulbs, unblocking drains, and tightening loose screws on cabinetry. By managing these simple tasks, you help maintain the integrity of your living space and assist in the overall upkeep of our community.

Co-op Responsibilities

Cotswold Commons Co-operative takes responsibility for maintaining the structural integrity and functionality of all communal and individual living spaces. Our dedicated maintenance team handles significant repairs including structural issues, heating system malfunctions, plumbing problems, and electrical faults. We also take care of external repairs such as roofing, landscaping, and public area maintenance to ensure our community not only runs smoothly but is also a place you are proud to call home.
